RALEIGH
-- Raleigh, North Carolina, Bed and Breakfast
Inn Lodging, a NC Hotel Alternative
Welcome to Raleigh, capital city of North Carolina. Check in to one of our comfortable Bed and Breakfast Inns, and then let’s go exploring. Raleigh has been called the “Smithsonian of the South”, because of the variety of things to do and see and learn here. Several museums await your visit…the Museums of Art, History, and Natural Sciences. Experience a bit of history yourself with a stop at Mordecai Park, the plantation birthplace of President Andrew Johnson. The park also contains the restored St. Mark’s Chapel and herb garden. You’ll find Mordecai Park to be one of the favorite stops along the Raleigh Trolley Tour. The first public park in North Carolina was founded right here in Raleigh. Pullen Park was developed in 1887 on donated land. Some of the original trees are still standing! In 1891 Pullen Park added the first swimming pool in the city, made of wood—for men only! There was also a pool in another part of the park for ladies and girls. Today the park is also home to an aquatic center, ball field, train, carousel, concessions, boats…the list goes on. It’s no wonder that Raleigh has also been called the “park with a city in it”. The action isn’t over yet. There’s still the symphony, plays, outdoor performances, and sporting events. Then it’s time to rest up for kayaking, mountain biking, tandem canoeing, climbing Pilot Mountain, and the Annual Neuse River Rally. Let’s see if you can keep up!
