APEX -- Apex, North Carolina, a Hotel Lodgin Alternative, NC Bed and Breakfast Inn
When visiting Apex, why not stay at an inspected NCBBI Bed and Breakfast Inn? Apex is within easy driving distance of theater, opera, dance, and symphony orchestras. Sports fans can enjoy college sports, baseball and ice hockey. Visiting golfers have their pick of dozens of top courses.
Apex was so named because it was believed to be the highest point on the railroad line from Richmond, VA, to Jacksonville, FL.
Town amenities include an extensive greenway system for its residents to leisurely stroll, ride bicycles or skate, and the Eva Perry Library, one of the newest in Wake County's system, which is down U.S. 64, a few miles from downtown.
Another of the town's attractions is the Peak Week celebration, sponsored every spring by the Chamber of Commerce, which features gospel sings, dinners, barbecues and a wide variety of entertainment. A similar occasion, Fall Festival, is held in October, and, at Christmas time, the Apex Historical Society offers a homes tour.
